New ideas for Bedroom

Playing It Cool

The periwinkle blue hues that prevail in this bedroom create a restful and relaxing atmosphere. Neutral white surfaces and warm wood elements provide a balance, though, because too much of this cool color would make the space seem cold rather than comfortable.

Beautiful in Beige

Using beige carpet in this room was the best selection for the romantic look the designer wanted to achieve. The dark wood of the furnishings contrasts beautifully with the soft beiges of the walls, window treatment, bedding and upholstery.

Cozy Comfort

Inviting and unassuming, this bedroom offers cuddle-up coziness and dreamy color. A featherbed, crisp cotton linens, plump down pillows, and upholstered headboard emphasize softness and color above high style. Photo

A Pinch of Flower

Flower patterns convey life and color they mix and match well, but to avoid overdoing it, edit carefully and add other elements. Here, striped pillows provide a bit of contrast, and a cool color on the walls quiets things down and keeps the look from becoming too cloying.Photo

Rest & Relaxation

Bringing warmth to this bedroom are the gilt-framed mirror, limestone fireplace and mirrored vanity. The bed's oak frame incorporates a headboard in cream-colored silk. Other textures include: Jagtar silk curtains with silver trim, wool carpet with leather trim, and stained oak wardrobes with leather panels.

Bright Budoir

The palette in the master bedroom was chosen to be sexier, softer and more romantic, and is reminiscent of the art deco period. The area rug was modified from a vintage pattern. Ivory silk curtains soften the room and block out light. The chair is French deco, and the antique armoire belonged to the client.
